When I was younger and much more naive, I really liked the game Roblox, and they have an in-game currency called Robux. This currency obviously costs real-life money to acquire, but as a kid, I didn’t have money to get Robux. What I ended up doing was looking up “Free Robux Generator” on the internet, and obviously, they are all scams, but I still clicked on the first link that came up. When I did this, the website immediately asked how much Robux I wanted, followed by asking for my username and password. This was obviously to gain access to my account and steal it. I was still ready to give the website my information, but before I put all my info I told my mom cause something still didn’t seem exactly right. She immediately caught that it was a scam and told me not to share passwords when something is promised for free, which is pretty basic but helpful information to detect scams. So now I know not to fall for scams on random websites on the internet, thanks to my mom.

  1. A tear ran down my cheek while I read this, I almost fell for the same scam when I was a kid. It’s nice to see that there is other people who shared a similar experience. Beautiful.

  2. Wow this has to be some of the most inspirational writing I have ever read. Please keep going I can feel your passion through the screen.

  3. Honestly I had the same experience but instead of Roblox it was Fortnite, thankfully my parents still stepped in and stopped me from doing anything further.
